Christmas Advent Calendar- Books!

We love books and decided to try an advent calendar made of books. Some are from our collection, some are from the library, and some will be new. We would love to hear suggestions of your favorites to add to our fun.

24 is a lot. I think I will add some crafts too. Amelia is super excited to unwrap and read a new book every day.

Introducing Marie

She changes diapers, bakes apple pie, catches chickens, pushes swings and even swims!

Amelia was leading the way at the zoo this weekend. An excellent guide.

The end of summer

Summer ended with the thunderstorm this morning. Or maybe on Tuesday which marked a series of firsts for our family. First day of new preschool for Amelia. First day of work for mom. First day Antoine spent with Marie, our Au pair.

Some final pics from summer. Here is Amelia riding a tortoise at her new school picnic.

I think she is excited. Here at Viking Days.

I love how she is holding her brother. They were watching a Viking play flute.

Kid Olympics

Potato sack races are pretty competitive.

Ever popular star jumping.

 Bouncy for champions.

Just another fun day at our community center.

Antoine's first camping trip in our giant tent

We finally had our first super sunny PNW capping trip. We picked an easy coastal site near these mudflats. It was lots of fun. Amelia tried her first s'more.

Amelia's first self portrait with Antoine

Amelia is on the left holding hands with her brother. Amelia is wearing a pretty dress. The dots in their bellies are food. The sun is shining above them. The lines on the far left are the volcano. Don't worry many of her drawings now include volcanoes.
